France's Jo-Wilfried Tsonga finally beat Canadian Milos Raonic 6-3, 3-6, 25-23 in the longest three-set match in Olympic tennis history. With this win Tsonga entered the round of 16. 

Meanwhile, the seventh-seeded pair of Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna went down 6-3, 6-4 to Richard Gasquet and Julien Benneteau of France in the doubles pre-quarterfinals.

Paes and Vardhan lost 6-7, 6-4, 4-6 to France’s Tsonga and Llodra in the men's doubles second round. 

Leander Paes and Sania Mirza were knocked out in the mixed doubles quarter-finals, 5-7, 6-7 to the pair of Max Mirnyi and Victoria Azarenka from Belarus who were seeded 1 at the Games.

Murray beat Federer 6-2, 6-1, 6-4 for the men's singles title at the Olympics while Serena Williams beat Maria Sharapova 6-0, 6-1 to claim gold in the women’s singles title.
