Man Kaur from India needed almost a minute-and-a-half to cross the finish line in the 100-meter dash, but she still picked up a gold medal Monday at the American Masters Games.That’s because the 100-year-old Kaur was the only female competitor in her age category at the competition for older athletes.When she crossed the finish line in Vancouver, her competitors many of them in their 70s and 80s were there to cheer her on.

Padma Sachdev gets Saraswati Samman for year 2015

Jammu-born poet and novelist Padma Sachdev has been chosen for the prestigious Saraswati Samman for the year 2015 for her autobiography in Dogri language. The 76-year-old writer's autobiography 'Chitt-Chete', published in 2007, was selected for the 25th Saraswati Samman from among five works that were shortlisted from 22 works in as many languages published between the years 2005-2014.

Government launches E-box for online registration of child sexual abuse complaints*

Aimed at helping victims of child sexual abuse, the government on Friday launched an E-box for online registering of such complaints. The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO), E-Box, is an online complaint management system for easy and direct reporting of sexual offences against children and timely action against the offenders under the POCSO Act, 2012. The E-Box will help to maintain the confidentiality of the complaint.
